The Morning Swim Show, Nov. 4, 2009: Mackenzie Perry on Developing Talented 5-Year-Old; Matt McLean Offers Up Challenging Freestyle Set

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 4. THE summer coach of a talented 5-year-old and one of the country's top distance swimmers join today's edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Mackenzie Perry, a swimmer at Emory University, spent the past two summers in Irvine, Calif., teaching Ethan Diedricks the finer points of the dolphin kick. Soon, Ethan was a natural butterflyer and could dolphin kick almost 15 meters underwater at the start of a race. Perry talks about developing Ethan's kick and how he avoided burning out the kid during training. Matt McLean of Virginia offers up a tough Set of the Week, a freestyle distance set that McLean said he loves to do regularly.
