The Morning Swim Show: Grant Hackett Retires; Matt Targett Talks About Returning to Auburn University; Phil Scholz, Blind Since 15, Rising Star at Loyola University

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 28. GRANT Hackett's retirement and interviews with two college swimmers are the focus of Tuesday's edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Among the news from Australia highlighted in today's show is Hackett's retirement announcement at the Telstra Swimmer of the Year Awards ceremony held last weekend, with a look at some of his achievements, including his 1500-meter free world record. The two world records set at the FINA Word Cup are also part of today's news, detailing the swims by Matt Jaukovic and Robert Hurley.

In College Swimming Tuesdays, Auburn senior Matt Targett talks to host Peter Busch about his experiences at the Olympics, where he won a silver and bronze medal. He also talks about what he's learned from the years he's been a teammate of Hackett and what people might not know about him. Turning the focus to college swimming, Targett said Auburn is looking to return the men's NCAA title to the Tigers, and said he's looking forward to working hard with his coach and teammates, which will include Olympic gold medalist Cesar Cielo.

Loyola University sophomore Phil Scholz, legally blind since he was 15, has been breaking Paralympic American records at the Paralympics and at college meets so far this season. Scholz details his experiences in Beijing at the Paralympics and how he meshes with his team in Baltimore.
