The Morning Swim Show Features Fast Swimming Weekend; Georgia Tech Facilities Director Mike Edwards Talks About Texas A&M’s Short-Pool Situation and Ripple Effect

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 5. LARA Jackson's kickstart to a fast weekend of swimming and an interview with the facilities director at Georgia Tech are the focus of Friday's edition of The Morning Swim Show.

Host Peter Busch highlights a couple of the top meets around the world taking place this weekend, from the USA Swimming nationals, the Texas Invitational and meets in the Netherlands and South Africa. Giving the weekend a great start was Lara Jackson's American record in the 50-yard freestyle.

Mike Edwards, the facilities director at Georgia Tech University, where the USA Swimming nationals are being held, talks about the aftermath of the short pool situation at Texas A&M University. He said he has not seen a major pool have problems with their bulkheads in his many years managing pools, but believes the two incidents at Texas A&M are "a wake-up call" to all pool managers to make sure their facilities are in good shape, especially after contractors re-plaster pools.
