Texas Senior Circuit Champs, Days 1 and 2: Hansen, Blazes a 1:01.46 for 100m Breast

AUSTIN, Texas, June 18. BRENDAN Hansen blazed a very fast 1:01.46 for the 100-meter breaststroke to highlight the first two days of competition at the Texas Senior Circuit Championship meet at the Univesity of Texas in Austin. The four-day meet is being held June 17-20.

Hansen won his event by two full seconds over Longhorn teammate Christian Schurr.

Hayley McGregory launched herself into contention for a spot on the US Olympic team with a strong 1:01.86 to win the women's 100m backstroke.

The men's backstroke race was won by world champion Aaron Peirsol, who clocked 54.90. Canadian Matt Rose waas second in 56.87, while Neil Walker, a member of the 2000 US Olympic team in this event, was third in 57.32.

Walker won the men's 200 free in 1:50.60, as only a third of a second separated the top four finishers, all of them former UT LOnghorns. Peirsol was second in 1:50.78, followed by Nate Dusing, 1:50.81, and Josh Davis, 1:50.95.

Men's 400m IM: Bang Kim, 4:25.09
