Texas’ Clark Smith broke the Big 12 and school record with a time of 14:32.75.  That swim moved him up to 14th all time in the event’s history with a chance to drop even more time during NCAAs. That time downed Michael McBroom’s Big 12 record of 14:32.75 from 2011 and McBroom’s meet record of 14:33.53 set back in 2013. TCU’s Connor Dobbs placed second in 15:32.95 with teammate Rhorer Legendre claiming third in 15:33.10.
