The Texas-Arizona meet features countless Olympians, world-record holders, American-record holders, NCAA Champions and All-Americans. Texas juniors Dave Walters and Ricky Berens won gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as members of Team USA's 800-meter freestyle relay.

Berens swam in the preliminary and finals rounds and is a co-world record holder in the event. Walters joined Berens in the 800 freestyle relay preliminary round and broke Michael Phelps' American record in the 200-yard freestyle last month at the Texas Invitational.

Senior Michael Klueh joined Berens, Walters and Texas-Ex Matt McGinnis to set a new American record in the 800-yard freestyle relay last February at the Big 12 Championships. Texas also boasts one of the nation's most formidable corps of men's divers with All-Americans Matt Cooper, Jonathan Wilcox and Mike Wong and U.S. Olympic Trials finalist Drew Livingston.

The Texas women feature Beijing Olympics finalist Kathleen Hersey and Beijing Olympians Hee-Jin Chang and Susana Escobar. UT also boasts two additional U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials finalists in freshmen Leah Gingrich and Katie Riefenstahl and U.S. Olympic Diving Trials finalist Jessica Livingston. Senior diving All-American Kathryn Kelly joins Livingston to solidify one of the NCAA's top diving duos.

UT also features freshman Karlee Bispo, who has defeated two Beijing Olympians – California's Sara Isakovic and Texas A&M's Christine Marshall – in their premier events this season.

The Arizona men and women are the defending NCAA team champions. The Arizona men return Olympians Jean Basson, Jake Tapp, Joel Greenshields, while the Arizona women return senior Lara Jackson, who set a new American record in the 50-yard freestyle last month at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
