Texas A&M vs. Boston University

BOSTON, Massachusetts, November 14. THE Texas A&M men's swimming and diving team tallied nine individual victories in a 135-108 dual meet win over Boston University on Saturday at BU's Competition Pool.

The Aggies swept their two-meet road swing through New England with wins over Harvard and Boston, and improved to 2-0 in 2009.

"We challenged the team to come out and compete with intensity and efficiency, and they were able to do it," Aggie head coach Jay Holmes said. "We wanted to put some guys in off races and see how they would respond in different situations. I thought they a good job of stepping up on the blocks and competing hard in whatever situation they faced."

A&M was led by senior Nikita Denisyako, sophomore Grant Nel and freshman Omar Enriquez, who contributed a pair of individuals wins for the second straight day.

Denisyako, who also swam the backstroke leg on the winning medley relay, contributed wins in the 200 freestyle (1:41.27) and the 100 fly (49.69). Denisyako dueled with junior teammate Boris Loncaric in the 200 free and nipped Loncaric by .01 (1:41.27-1:41.28) at the wall.

Enriquez continued his strong freshman season with wins in the 400 IM in 4:02.23 and the 500 freestyle in 4:36.07.

Nel led the Aggies' sweep of the top two spots in the one- and three-meter springboards with scores of 336.70 and 345.90, respectively, and senior Henry Stevens grabbed second in both events.

Contributing single wins were senior Casey Strange in the 50 free (20.40) and junior Bryan Snowden in the 100 breaststroke (56.84).
