Tampa vs. Rollins

WINTER PARK, Florida, November 13. THE University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams both defeated Rollins College in a Sunshine State Conference meet on Saturday morning. The No. 17 men won 133-109 as the No. 10 women were victorious by a 133-99 score.

The Spartan women started the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The group of Caroline Belli, Lisa Bero, Lindsay Calimer and Kristine Kassl took first with a showing of 1:27.91.

UT also won five individual races on the women's side, coming from Heather Glenday in the 200 Free (1:58.87), Vicki Munson in the 50 Free (26.05), Calimer in the 100 Free (55.80), Alex Hipolito in the 100 Back (1:04.63) and Ellie Eshleman in the 500 Free 5:23.85.

The men also took the first race, championing the 200 Medley Relay with Andrew Johnson, Jonathan Wilks, David Humphrey and Felipe Manzo. The team won with a time of 1:39.27.

Chris O'Linger added a pair of top finishes, winning the 100 Fly (53.55) and 500 Free (4:45.69). Teammate Andrew Johnson also had two first-place finishes, in the 50 Free (22.29) and 100 Back (57.25). Manzo also finished first in the 100 Breast while posting a time of 1:03.07.

Tampa will now enjoy a break before hosting Division I opponent Wright State University on Sat., Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. The meet will take place at the UT Swimming Complex on campus.
