Tampa vs. Nova Southeastern

TAMPA, Florida, October 23. THE University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams split a decision with Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern University as the UT women won 135-115, though the men lost by a 158-104 score.

The Spartan women started the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Ellie Eshleman, Lisa Bero, Lindsay Calimer and Amy O'Brien finished in a time of 1:52.37.

Heather Glenday was one of two Spartans to win a pair of individual races, including the 200 Free (1:57.28) and the 1,000 Free (10:42.82). Eshleman also finished first in the 100 Back (1:00.27) and 200 Back (2:11.55).

O'Brien gave Tampa a victory in the 50 Free (25.14) as Kristine Kassl won the 100 Free (55.04) and Calimer the 100 Fly (59.49).

In men's action, Andrew Johnson won the 100 Back (55.30), Felipe Manzo the 50 Free (21.88), David Humphrey the 100 Free (48.26), Hunter Lineback the 400 IM (4:15.60). Tampa concluded the race with a 400 Free Relay win from Humphrey, Manzo, Jeff Fiore and Chris O'Linger (3:11.44).

Tampa returns to the pool to face Savannah College of Art & Design on Saturday at 11 a.m.
