Swimming World Six-Star Promotions: Matt Thompson, Lindsey Marchand Class of 2009

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 8. SWIMMING World would like to extend a congratulatory note to both Matt Thompson and Lindsey Marchand of the Class of 2009. Both swimmers updated their profiles shortly after the USA Swimming Short Course National Championships, and their times have earned promotion to the elite six-star status.

Thompson, who attends Jesuit College Prep and swims for the Dallas Mustangs, became this year's first six-star in the men's rankings. Thompson posted times of 1:42.05 in the 200-yard back and 1:44.34 in the 200-yard IM. Both efforts would have put Thompson into A finals at the NCAA Division I Championships last year.

Marchand, who preps at Peninsula High and swims for KING Aquatics, gave the Class of 2009 its seventh six-star female. Marchand clocked times of 1:00.63 in the 100-yard breast and 52.30 in the 100-yard fly, both A final times last year.
