Swimming World Six-Star Promotion: Jana Mangimelli

PHOENIX, Arizona, February 16. OVER the weekend, Jana Mangimelli reached the elite Swimming World six-star recruit status. With her hard work, she's proven that she will be an immediate impact recruit in the Swimming World College Recruit Rankings powered by Take Your Marks.

Mangimelli, who already signed with Georgia as part of the Class of 2009, added a second time that would have earned her a spot in a B final last year at the NCAA Division I Women's Championships.

Mangimelli, who swims for Brookwood High and Swim Atlanta, previously owned five-star status with a 4:12.46 in the 400-yard IM. This weekend, the Snellville, Ga., product added another B final time with a 1:58.15 in the 200-yard IM to become a six star.

To be a six-star, a recruit must have a lifetime best short course yard time that would either place them in the past year's A final of an event at the NCAA Division I Championships, or own multiple times that would have reached B finals in the past year

If you know of anyone else of high school age that has recorded a time that would have put them into A finals at last year's NCAA Division I Championships, please let us know via Reaction Time.
