Swimming World Magazine Bursting at Seams with World Championships Coverage in May Issue

PHOENIX, Arizona, April 11. IN the upcoming May issue of Swimming World Magazine, the publication provides wall-to-wall coverage of the FINA World Championships. With the issue in the final stages of development, here is a quick preview of what is to come. If you subscribe today, you will receive the May edition.

With an incredible two weeks of competition at the FINA World Championships, we nearly had a whitewash in our magazine as that meet dominates May's issue. Senior writer John Lohn writes an extended Voice for the Sport on the impact of Michael Phelps' incredible meet, while he also recaps the meet in Power and Depth in the World Swimming section.

Meanwhile, USA Diving's Jennifer Lowery provides a synopsis of the diving competition, while USA Water Polo correspondent Eric Velazquez writes about the United States' women's gold medal in water polo. The magazine also covers synchro and open water events.

Completing a World Swimming section already filled to the brim, managing editor Jason Marsteller recaps the men's NCAA Division I Championships with Auburn head coach David Marsh's last ride at the helm of the Tigers.

In SWIM, Wayne Goldsmith explains How to Deal with Swimming Injuries, while Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen checks in with another Pool's Edge column relating to shoulder shifts. She also profiles David Radcliff in our Lane Leader column. J.R. Rosania continues his Dryside Training IM series with tips on breaststroke, while Kari Lydersen features the Scottsdale Aquatic Club. In Swimming Technique, Michael J. Stott interviews University of Washington head coach Whitney L. Hite and looks at how Kim Jasmer of UW trains. Stott also spoke with Lenny Krayzelburg, Aaron Peirsol and Adolph Kiefer about backstroke race strategies. John Waldman rounds out the section with a piece on Warm-Up Strategies.

In Junior Swimmer, we spotlight our TYR National Age Group Swimmer of the Month Carly Rasmussen, while our Speedo American Relay keeps our readers posted on everything age group. We also profile the North Baltimore Aquatic Club 13-14 girls relay in our National Age Group Record Setters feature, while we recap the Speedo Championship Series Sectionals.
