Swimming World Magazine Announces Additions to SWIM Team

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 25. IN an effort to increase Masters coverage in the coming year, Swimming World Magazine will introduce a new core of contributors to the SWIM section of the monthly publication.

Mark Moore, the Masters program director and head Masters swim coach at Mission Viejo has accepted the position of Masters Editor for SWIM and will oversee all Masters content to be published in the magazine. He will also pen a regular Lane Leader feature that will profile different Masters swimmers.

Moore's coaching career began in 1978. He is a member of several aquatics sports associations and an active member of United States Masters Swimming (USMS). He joined the Mission Viejo Nadadores in 1996. In 2004 and 2005 Mark was recognized as the Southern Pacific Masters Coach of the Year. In 2005 he was also recognized as the USMS Speedo Coach of the Year. In 2006, Mark achieved the honor of American Swim Coaches Association Level 5 Masters Coach.

Karlyn Pipes-Neilsen has also joined the Swimming World Magazine family. Throughout the next year, Pipes-Neilsen will author a regular column called The Pool's Edge, which will feature cutting edge tips for Masters swimmers.

Pipes-Neilsen will be inducted into the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame (IMSHOF) class of 2007 and is the 2004 World Masters Swimmer of the Year. She currently holds more than 40 FINA Masters World records and 96 USMS National records spanning three age groups. Pipes-Neilsen and her husband Eric own Aquatic Edge, Inc., based in Kona, Hawaii, and host more than 50 swim technique clinics and camps worldwide each year. Additionally, J.R. Rosania will continue on as a Swimming World Magazine contributor as he offers dryland exercise advice on a regular basis.
