PHOENIX, Arizona, February 24. DURING the past week, the following meet managers took full advantage of uploading their results to the Swimming World meet results section of the website.

AGE GROUP
GCST LAST CHANCE MEET
More than 200 swimmers–even four from Michigan–took the opportunity to try to make cuts for the short course season at the GCST Last Chance Meet. The meet, held Feb. 18, was sponsored by the Gulf Coast Swim Team. It was held at the Florida Gulf Coast University Aquatic Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

PRESIDENTIAL MEET
Age group swimmers throughout Puerto Rico gathered Feb. 18-19 at the San Juan Natatorium to compete in the Presidential Meet. Numerous meet records were broken during the two-day event.

HIGH SCHOOL
MPSSAA 3A/2A/1A NORTH REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Final qualifying took place Feb. 18 at the Magnolia Middle School for the North Region of Maryland high schools. Qualifiers from this and the other regional meets moved on to the Maryland State Swimming and Diving Championships that are being held this weekend.

C. Milton Wright claimed both team titles. Its girls team scored 394 points to Patterson Mills’ 292; North Harford took third with 239, followed by Havre de Grace (199) and Fallston (188). The Wright boys collected 355 points, with Havre de Grace coming in second (319). Fallston was third (279), followed by Harford Tech (216) and Patterson Mill (192).

COLLEGE
NEW ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Championships were held Feb. 17-19 at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction, Vermont.

Bentley’s men’s team scored 885.5 points to defeat the three-time defending champion Keene State by 10.5 points (875). It was the first team title for Bentley since 2008, and the fifth in the last eight years. Roger Williams College took third (680.5), followed by Norwich University in fourth (398) and Regis College in fifth (361).

Bentley made it a sweep by winning the women’s team trophy-its second in a row-with 1,552.5 points. Keene State came in second (1,358), followed by Assumption (1,061.5), East Connecticut State (773.5) and Roger Williams College (672).

Diving awards were presented to Kim Schmidt, Westfield State, and Christian Francia, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (Divers of the Year); Schmidt and Michael Walsh, Bentley (Senior High-Point Divers); and Dave Laing, Westfield State, and Rick Danehy, Bentley (women’s and men’s Diving Coaches of the Year, respectively).

Swimming awards went to Eileen Mullowney, Saint Michael’s, and Drew Ledwith, Keene State (Swimmers of the Meet); Jillian Whitaker, Keene State, and Zach Wagner, University of New England (Senior High-Point Swimmers); and MaryKay Samko, Bentley, and Jack Fabian, Keene State (women’s and men’s Swimming Coaches of the Year, respectively). The Steve Looke Team Sportsmanship Award was given to Saint Joseph’s-Maine (women) and Norwich (men).
