SwimInfo.com Posts 7000th Free News Story SWIMMING WORLD TV ON THE HORIZON

PHOENIX, AZ., July 6. SWIMINFO.COM celebrated its eighth birthday last week and today celebrates the posting of its 7000th article on its site.

“Seven Thousand news stories is not a number that can be overlooked. The fact that someone in our company had to find, read, review, verify, edit and post each story in a timely manner is no easy feat. Phil Whitten, Editor-in-Chief oversaw SwimInfo.com on a daily basis. We are deeply appreciative of his passion for the sport and his journalistic efforts. We hope that the entire swimming community shares in our gratitude,” commented Dick Deal, Publisher of Sports Publications International (SPI), the parent company to SwimInfo.com, Swimming World, SWIM, and Swimming Technique magazines.

“Hopefully people realize that we work seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day promoting the sport of swimming. Those Sunday morning news stories appear only after someone was up late in the evening posting the news”, added Brent Rutemiller, CEO for SPI.

Phil Whitten said that he is very proud of his contributions to the sport and the company. While he enjoys posting SwimInfo.com stories, he is looking forward to the upcoming launch of Swimming World TV which will broadcast the news over the internet through audio and video webcasts.

Swimming World TV is SPI’s latest media vehicle to be launched within the next 30 days. It is expected that Swimming World TV will continue from where SwimInfo.com leaves off. SPI has completed the construction of a filming studio in Phoenix and will have the ability to broadcast events, technique tips, interviews and more over the internet. Phil Whitten will anchor a news program that will be called Swimming World Week in Review, which will air weekly. From that launch point, other regular programs will be incorporated. “Our goal is simple: Promote the sport of swimming!”, concluded Rutemiller.
