Swedish Grand Prix, Uppsala: Simon Sjodin Sets Swedish Record; Dinko Jukic Doubles

UPPSALA, Sweden, March 8. DURING the first finals session of long course swimming at the Swedish Grand Prix held in Uppsala, Simon Sjodin took down the Swedish national record in the men's 100 back. Meanwhile, Dinko Jukic collected a pair of titles.

Sjodin stopped the clock in 56.37 for second in the 100 back behind event-winner Matt Clay of Great Britain, who won in 56.16.

Meanwhile, Jukic claimed victories in the 200 fly (1:59.67) and 400 IM (4:34.09) to finish the day with double wins.

Other winners for the men included Stefan Nystrand in the 100 free (48.95), Martin Gustafsson in the 50 breast (29.07), Linus Junefelt in the 400 free (4:02.96), Maxim Podoprigora in the 200 breast (2:15.61) and Ben Hockin in the 50 fly (24.37).

In women's action, the following swimmers claimed victories: Josefin Lillhage in the 200 free (1:59.45), Hanna Westrin in the 100 breast (1:08.98), Petra Granlund in the 100 fly (1:00.03), Erika Hegestig in the 50 back (30.95), Mirna Jukic in the 200 IM (2:17.43), Marlene Veldhuis in the 50 free (24.47), Anna Ahlin in the 1500 free (18:03.05) and Carin Moller in the 200 back (2:17.99).
