Stillwater Girls, Altus Boys Win 2016 Oklahoma 5A State High School Championships

The Stillwater girls and Altus boys topped the 2016 Oklahoma 5A State High School Championships.

Girls

Stillwater took home the 5A title with 249.5 points.  Carl Albert (196), Deer Creek (152.5), Booker T Washington (150) and Shawnee (148) took second through fifth.

Metro Christian’s Isabelle Packard won the 200-yard free in 1:56.00. Packard doubled up with a 5:15.47 in the 500-yard free.

Bishop McGuinness’ Hanna Newby posted a 5A record time of 2:07.77 in the 200-yard IM. Newby doubled up with a 5A record 1:04.58 in the 100-yard breast.

Booker T Washington’s Emma Latta hit the wall in 25.34 to win the 50-yard free. Latta swept the sprint frees with a 55.33 in the 100-yard free.

Eisenhower’s Deven Speed topped the 100-yard fly in 58.42.

Stillwater’s Dewi Blose won the 100-yard back in 57.79.

Carl Albert’s Jen Litchfield, Rachel Cook, Sylvia Shaw and Caitlyn Nemecek posted a 5A record time of 1:56.16 in the 200-yard medley relay.

Metro Christian’s Lauren Steudtner, Kathryn Heinecke, Grace Heinecke and Isabelle Packard won the 200-yard free relay in 1:53.05.

Stillwater’s Dewi Blose, Isabelle Smith, Cecilia Smith and Kayla Dunn posted a 5A record in the 400-yard free relay with a 3:50.56.

Boys

Altus won the 5A state title with 306 points.  Fort Gibson (223.5), Carl Albert (214), Booker T Washington (202) and Stillwater (157.5) rounded out the top five.

Bishop Kelley’s Patrick Callan took down the 5A record in the 200-yard free with a 1:40.81. Callan doubled up with a 4:41.63 in the 500-yard free.

Piedmont’s Tyler St. John topped the 200-yard IM in 2:01.30.

Atlus’ Daniel Brown claimed the 50-yard free in 21.22.  Brown swept the sprint frees with a 47.81 in the 100-yard free.

Booker T Washington’s Evan Barton captured the 100-yard fly in 52.78.

Duncan’s Charles Espinola won the 100-yard back in 54.08.

Midwest City’s Justin Dennison claimed the 100-yard breast in 1:00.71.

Altus’ Walker Sacco, Konner Croft, Chase Hubbard and Daniel Brown won the 200-yard medley relay with a 5A record 1:39.91.

Altus’ Walker Sacco, Konner Croft, David Scott and Daniel Brown put up a 1:31.19 to win the 200-yard free relay.

Carl Albert’s Alex Lawrence, Ryan Wade, John Ryan Cook and Brandon Putman won the 400-yard free relay in 3:23.50.

Girls 5A 200 Free relay times are incorrect. Metro Christian finished with a 1:44.97.

Yes we are trying to get them fixed. if you have results for both A&B finals you will see the B finals are all faster than the A finals. They had an error on the B final times and when they corrected they added the correction to the A finals. hopefully they will get it correct soon. Just letting you know to keep an eye out for correction!
