Stephanie Marchuk Dashes to First in Final Session of the IU Bucceto Open

Stephanie Marchuk dashed to first in the women’s 1500-meter free with a 16:43.47, finishing over 30 seconds ahead of the competition in the final session of the IU Bucceto Open. Marah Pugh took second with a 17:18.73, while Emily Meckstroth finished third with a 17:22.02.

Grayson Smith took first in the men’s 800-meter free with a final time of 8:32.36. Spencer Lehman finished second with a time of 8:34.21, while Andrej Ivanovic rounded out the top three with an 8:35.26.

Gia Dalesandro and Andrea Ward kept it close in the women’s 100-meter fly finishing .06 seconds apart. Dalesandro took first with a 1:00.43 over Ward’s 1:00.49. Vanna Krause was third with a 1:00.98.

Josh Quallen claimed the men’s 100-meter fly for himself with a final time of 55.09. Blake Pieroni moved up to take second with a 56.12, while Zach Harting finished third with a 56.18.

Claire Adams took first in the women’s 100-meter back with a time of 1:02.31, dropping 1.73 seconds from her prelims time of 1:04.04. Ashley Leclair finished second with a 1:03.26. Marie Chamberlain rounded out the top three with a final time of 1:03.67.

Grigory Tarasevich dominated the men’s 100-meter back, finishing 2.06 seconds ahead of the competition with a 55.07. Nick Hasemann claimed second with a 57.13, while Bob Glover was third with a 57.80.

Emily Weiss turned in a swift 1:11.49 to win the women’s 100-meter breaststroke, dropping 2.18 seconds from her prelims time of 1:13.67. Lucy Kramer took second with a 1:14.20, while Lauren Edelman was third with a 1:14.68.

Chandler Bray won the men’s 100-meter breaststroke with a 1:04.61. Dexter Thomas posted a 1:05.23 for second, while Jack Wallar was third with a 1:06.63.

Edelman rebounded from the breaststroke with a win in the women’s 200-meter IM. Edelman posted a 2:20.35, dropping 2.09 seconds from her prelims time of 2:22.44. Bailey Pressey took second with a 2:21.36, while Sammie Burchill rounded out the top three with a 2:22.64.

Nolan Tesone posted a 2:05.19 to win the men’s 200-meter IM. Mark Andrew turned in a 2:07.09 for second, while Pieroni rounded out the top three with a 2:08.48.

The 400-medley relay of Adams (1:03.42), Kendall Smith (1:16.23), Veronica Burchill (1:00.94) and Trude Rothrock (56.92) of Carmel Swim Club posted a winning time of 4:17.51 to win the event. Indiana University Swim Team took second with a 4:21.31, while the ‘B’ relay from Carmel claimed third with a 4:28.74.

The men’s 400-medley relay went to Ryan Gordon (1:00.42), Levi Brock (1:08.24), Nick Wonder (56.55) and Luke Lete (54.80) from Indiana University Swim Team who posted a winning time of 4:00.01. Zionsville Swim Club were second with a 4:02.22, while the ‘B’ relay from Indiana University finished third with a 4:02.95.
