Stefan Stojmenovic Lowers NJCAA Record in 100 Fly

BUFFALO – Stefan Stojmenovic led the way with an NJCAA record in the 100-yard fly at the NJCAA Championships.

Indian River has already secured its 41st men’s and 33rd women’s title with a day to go.

The men are ahead of Iowa Lakes, 1274-661, while the women lead 1037-775 against Monroe Community.

Women’s Meet

IRSC’s Taylor Lovemore (25.68), Christina Loh (28.46), Barbara Caraballo (25.72) and Leah Sim (23.52) won the women’s 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.38.

Monroe took second in 1:49.98 with Iowa Lakes in third with a 1:50.06.

IRSC’s Barbara Caraballo topped the women’s 400-yard IM with a time of 4:28.12, while teammate Olivia Jacobi touched second in 4:35.74.  Iowa Lakes’s Grace Conlon snared third with a 4:40.97.

IRSC’s Tayla Lovemore punched the clock in 54.18 to win the women’s 100-yard fly title.  South Georgia’s Carolyn Ives finished a distant second in 58.79 with IRSC’s Grace Lynch earning third in 59.28.

IRSC’s Rebecca Halfast clinched the women’s 200-yard free crown in 1:52.76 with Monroe’s Tamara Miler posting a second-place time of 1:53.03.  Indian River’s Sarah Neely turned in a third-place 1:56.64.

IRSC’s Christina Loh won the women’s 100-yard breast in 1:01.80 with teammate Laure Grinnel taking second in 1:04.16.  Iowa Lakes’ Hannah White picked up third in 1:07.57.

IRSC’s Rebecca Halfast doubled up with a 57.28 in the women’s 100-yard back.  Iowa Lakes’ Cheyenne Rova finished second in 57.69 with IRSC’s Kaitlyn Yearout placing third in 58.38.

Men’s Meet

IRSC’s Stefan Stojmenovic (21.85), Craig Emslie (24.18), Shota Nakano (21.85) and Bryce Timonera (19.91) took home the men’s 200-yard medley relay title in 1:27.79.

South Georgia finished second in 1:34.77 with Southwest Oregon earning third in 1:36.24.

IRSC went 1-2-3 in the one-meter diving event.  Zach Duval won with 512.20 points.  David Zarb took second with 491.90 points, while Robert Morgan snared third with 447.00 points.

IRSC also went 1-2-3 in the men’s 400-yard IM.  Quinn Poti took the title in 4:00.10 with Brandon Thoman finishing second in 4:07.65.  Ronald Santos placed third in 4:08.01.

Earlier this morning, IRSC’s Stefan Stojmenovic set the men’s 100-yard fly NJCAA record with a 47.05.  He downed that mark again with a scorching 46.99 in finals as he led a ridiculous 1-2-3-4-5-6 for IRSC.

Shota Nakano (48.27) and Bryce Timonera (48.86) were the other podium placers in the finale.

IRSC’s Adam Wise took home the men’s 200-yard free crown in 1:39.14.  Monroe’s Michael Klugo placed second in 1:39.99 with IRSC’s Bradley Adan taking third in 1:40.84.

IRSC went 1-2-3 in the men’s 100-yard breast.  Craig Emslie won in 54.48 with Serginn Marten placing second in 54.59. Erle Craven claimed third in 55.10.

Stojmenovic then won a second title tonight with a 47.84 in the men’s 100-yard back.  South Georgia’s Austin Vines placed second in 51.25 with Iowa Lakes’ Chance Hartly taking third in 52.38.
