Stanford Women, Texas Men Lead First CSCAA Swimming and Diving Poll of 2010-2011 Season — Updated to include Division III poll

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 10. THE first dual meet rankings of the season from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America are out, with the Stanford women and Texas men leading in voting.

The Stanford women's team, which finished second at the 2010 NCAA championships by 2.5 points, received 734 points in this first poll to lead all schools in the Division I category. Georgia, which finished fifth at the last NCAAs, earned 713 points for second in the poll. Texas is third with 703 points and reigning team champion Florida rounds out the top five with 680 points.

On the men's side, reigning champion Texas got 510 points to earn the top spot. Cal-Berkeley and Stanford are tied with 445 points each for the second-place ranking and Florida placed fourth with 418 points. Arizona completes the top five with 375 points.

The CSCAA also ranks Division II schools in this first poll, with Grand Valley State claiming the top spot in the women's poll over Ashland, while the Ashland men's team placed well ahead of Missouri University of Science & Technology.

The next poll will be released Dec. 15.
