Stanford vs. USC

LOS ANGELES, California, February 9. NO. 3 Stanford improved to 5-1 in dual meets this season by defeating USC, 160-129 on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles. Stanford got three event wins from David Mosko to defeat the Trojans.

After winning two events yesterday in a win over Cal State Bakersfield, Mosko made it five for the weekend against the Trojans. He began by winning the 1000 free in a time of 9:25.49. Mosko followed that performance by taking the 200 fly in a time of 1:48.49. He completed the triple by winning the 500 free in a time of 4:30.95.

Also, with event wins were Stanford's Dunford brothers. First it was David Dunford in the 50 free with a personal best time of 19.96. The time also gave David a national `B' standard. He was later followed by his brother Jason Dunford in the 100 free with a Stanford season best time of 43.65 seconds, which improved his `B' standard.

Nathan Kim led the way for Stanford diving by winning the 3-meter competition with 340.35 points. The Stanford divers will host BYU next weekend in a diving only meet at 1:00 p.m.

Stanford swimming and diving will conclude its dual meet season in two weeks when they host California on Saturday, February 23 at 1:00 p.m. Stanford will then enter the postseason as they look to extend their streak to 27 consecutive Pac-10 championships.
