Stanford Inks Krueger

STANFORD, California, November 27. THE Cardinal has signed a fourth high school standout to a National Letter of Intent, as announced by Head Coach John Tanner. Kim Krueger of Los Altos Hills will join Amber Oland (Santa Ana, Calif.), Chelsea Smith-Carmichael (San Diego, Calif.) and Allison Gerrity (Poway, Calif.) in the Cardinal class of 2011.

Krueger, a standout at the Menlo School in Atherton, has led the Menlo team to two CIF CCS Championships. She is a First Team PAL All -League honoree and, with Stanford's other three signees, played on the U.S. Youth team that won the Junior Pan Am Championship this summer. Krueger also played for the Stanford Water Polo Club team that won 20/U Nationals and placed second at Open Nationals this summer.

"Kim is a terrific passer, creative goal-scorer and strong defender," says Head Coach John Tanner. "Because she plays with our club team, she is very familiar with Stanford water polo. We are very excited to add a talented and poised left-hander to this already strong recruiting class."
