Split Time, Dec. 11: The Final Draft of the Athlete Partnership Agreement

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 11. LAST week, USA Swimming announced the approval of a final draft of the Athlete Partnership Agreement. Under the new agreement, participating national team athletes will receive a $15,000 increase in their annual stipend from $21,000 last year to $36,000 in 2011.

More money is great news for many athletes, but throughout the proposal process many speculated that the athletes were giving up too much in exchange for this raise. Unlike many drafts of the proposal, we haven't had much explanation of this one, until now.

We've brought back in a friend of the show and the Vice President for the Athletes on the Board of Directors Tyler Storie, to explain exactly what has been approved.
