Speedo Considering Allowing Contracted Swimmers To Wear Other Suits

PHOENIX, Arizona, July 1. ACCORDING to reporting by The Associated Press, Speedo may be going the way of the Japanese Swimming Federation last summer and allowing contracted swimmers the ability to swim in other suits.

"The brand is continuing to evaluate the situation internally," Speedo vice president for marketing Craig Brommers told The Associated Press.

This outcome is a 180 from last summer when swimmers contracted by other suit companies were clamoring to use the Speedo LZR Racer heading into important events at the time. Nike allowed its contracted swimmers to wear whatever suit they wanted, while the Japanese Swimming Federation ignored its contract with three suit makers to allow its swimmers like Kosuke Kitajima to wear Speedo's suits.
