Seven Cities Will Bid for 2010 World Short Course Championships

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, October 5. SEVEN cities will bid for the 10th edition of the World Short Course Championships, scheduled for 2010. The cities expected to bid are Berlin (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Durban (South Africa), Istanbul (Turkey), Seville (Spain), Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Singapore. The bids must be submitted in December.

FINA, the international governing body for swimming, will decide on a host city in April of 2006. The 2006 World Short Course Champs are slated for Shanghai (China) April 5-9 while the 2008 version of the event will be held in Manchester, England.
