Serbia Wins Men’s Water Polo World League Super Final in Berlin

BERLIN, Germany, August 13. SERBIA won the 2007 edition of the FINA Men's Water Polo World League, by triumphing in the decisive game against Hungary (9-6) in the Super Final held in Berlin from Aug. 7-12, 2007.

It was the third win for Serbia in the history of the World League, after winning in 2005 and 2006 as Serbia-Montenegro. Besides winning $100,000 in prize money, the win qualified Serbia for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

For the bronze medal, Australia beat host Germany, 7-6, while the United States beat Romania, 9-6, for fifth place. Finally, the seventh position was decided by penalty shootouts, with Canada defeating China, 12-11.
