Serbia Open: Lazar Bogdanovski Sets Serbian Record

BELGRADE, Serbia, June 14. LAZAR Bogdanovski bettered the Serbian record in the men's 200 back during the final day of long course meter swimming at the Serbian Open held in Belgrade.

Bogdanovski smashed the men's 200 back national record with a time of 2:04.00. That performance crushed his previous standard of 2:05.63 set in 2007. Ivan Kopacs took second in 2:08.13, while Petar Petrovic finished third in 2:11.08.

Ivan Lendjer won the men's 50 fly in 24.08. Nikola Simic (25.82) and Srecko Stefanovic (26.07) placed second and third. Danijela Djikanovic claimed the women's 50 fly in 28.45 with Katarina Simonovic (29.45) and Dobromira Ivanova (29.95) earning second and third.

Andrea Basaraba took home the women's 200 back title in 2:19.82, while Monika Varga (2:33.14) and Katarina Draganov (2:34.95) completed the top three.

Caba Siladji snatched the men's 100 breast crown in 1:03.16 with Zlatan Hamzic (1:05.69) and Lachezar Shumkov (1:06.66) placing second and third. Nadja Higl topped the women's 100 breast in 1:12.25. Stefanija Draganov (1:15.21) and Jovana Bogdanovic (1:15.84) touched second and third.

Stefan Sorak garnered the men's 200 free crown in 1:54.88. Mihail Georgiev touched second in 1:57.33, while Simic placed third in 1:58.19. Milica Ostojic hit the wall in 2:05.93 in the women's 200 free. Simonovic turned in a second-place 2:09.20, while Monika Senji finished third in 2:09.23.

Sorak returned in the men's 1500 free for the win with a 17:08.84. Igor Mijatovic placed second in 17:09.29 with Aleksandar Miletic finishing third in 17:09.61. Bogdanovic topped the women's 1500 free in 18:34.82. Milana Basic (20:12.48) and Sara Radmilovic (20:16.90) were the other competitors in the event.
