SEC Names Caeleb Dressel and Erika Brown Swimmers of the Week

The Southeastern Conference has announced its latest weekly award-winners, including multi-event superstar Caeleb Dressel and Tennessee sophomore Erika Brown.

Male Swimmer of the Week
Caeleb Dressel • Florida
Senior • Green Cove Springs, Fla.

Dressel won all three individual events with B-cut times in Florida’s win over No. 12 Tennessee. He recorded a season-best time in the 100 breaststroke (53.23), his second time swimming the event this season. Dressel also took the top spot in the 50 free (19.41) and 200 IM (1:44.94).


Male Diver of the Week
Kyle Goodwin • Missouri
Junior • Aurora, Colo.

Goodwin won his ninth and 10th event wins of the season as he helped Mizzou defeat Drury in the final dual meet of the season on Jan. 25. He swept the diving competition with wins on both 1-meter (346.50) and 3-meter (368.40), his second straight dual sweep. Goodwin now owns six victories on 1-meter and four on 3-meter in 2017-18.


Male Freshman of the Week
Michael Taylor • Florida
Freshman • Alpharetta, Ga.

In Florida’s win over No. 12 Tennessee, Taylor swept the backstroke events for the first time in his career. He recorded B-cut times in both events with a 47.71 in the 100 back and 1:44.83 in the 200 back.


Female Swimmer of the Week
Erika Brown • Tennessee
Sophomore • Charlotte, N.C.

Brown won two individual events and was a part of two winning relays to help Tennessee defeat No. 16 Florida for the first time since 2014. She posted B-cut times in both the 100 fly (52.31) and 200 free (1:47.74). Brown also was a member of the top-finishing 200 medley relay (1:39.79) and 400 free relay (3:19.60).


Female Diver of the Wee
Julia Vincent • South Carolina
Senior • Johannesburg, South Africa

Vincent broke her own school record with a 365.75 on the 1-meter in the South Carolina Collegiate Invitational, the final home meet of her collegiate career. She owns the school records in both the 1-meter and 3-meter. Vincent recorded 16th and 17th event wins of the season at the invitational with first-place finishes on both the 1-meter and 3-meter (373.65).


Female Freshman of the Week
Taylor Ault • Florida
Freshman • La Habra, Calif.

Ault swept the distance events in Florida’s dual meet against No. 9 Tennessee. She recorded a B-cut time in the 500 free (4:47.04). Ault also touched the wall first in the 1000 free (9:52.83).
