ST. PETERS, Missouri. February, 14. THE high school swim season is now over for the boys in Missouri and only one individual record was broken this past weekend at their championship meet.

Scott Jostes of Chaminade broke the state record in the 100 back clocking in at 50.18. He won two events over the weekend, the other being the 100 fly where he touched the wall at 50.15 seconds.

Other double event winners include junior Sean Mathews (Lafayette) for his 200 free, 1:42.68, and 100 free, 47.02. Jared Lender also walked away with two victories, one in the 200 IM, 1:52.95, the other in the 100 breast, 58.29.

Blue Springs set a state record in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:08.23. The record setting relay was made up of Matt Burns, Jesse Shalley, Jeff Patterson, and Zach Bolin.

Rockhurst Jesuit High School Swim and Dive teach captured their second straight swim championship. They were able to score 304 points, becoming only the second team in state history to break the 300-point mark. The team capped off their undefeated season by scoring points in every event and placing four swimmers in the 500 freestyle and 3 in the backstroke while having 30 entries all together. Although they did not have any individual winners, they did win the 200 medley relay for the third year straight and had All-American times in all three relays. The school becomes the first team from the Kansas City area to win back to back state championships in swimming and diving.
