Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom topped the field in the women’s 50-meter butterfly prelims posting a time of 25.43. While this may not be as quick as her 2015 world best of 24.69 from the Swim Cup Eindhoven, Sjostrom is sure to turn on the heat in semi-finals.

Denmark’s Jeanette Ottesen turned in a quick 25.51 to claim the second-place seed for tomorrow’s semi-finals. Ottesen’s prelims time is only .03 off her second-place world ranking of 25.48 which she posted at the Danish Open earlier this year.

Inge Dekker of the Netherland’s posted a 25.66 for the third-place seed, also lowering her own world ranking by .02 seconds. She retains her current spot as third in the world rankings for 2015.

China’s Ying Lu shaved some time off her 2015 world best of 25.72 posting a 25.69 for the fourth-place seed for semi-finals. Ying will also maintain her current spot in the world rankings at fourth.

Great Britain’s Fran Halsall finished with a 25.86 to become the final swimmer under the 26 second mark. Halsall improved her world best time by .17 seconds. This moves her up to tie Ranomi Kromowidjojo for fifth in the world rankings.

Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace turned in a 26.02 for the sixth place seed, putting her just off her world best for 2015 of 25.93.

Kendyl Stewart, representing the United States, tied Elena Gemo of Italy for the seventh-place seed. Both posted a 26.07 in their respective heats to round out the top heat for semi-finals.

Poland’s Anna Dogwiert (26.24), Belgium’s Kimberly Buys (26.28), Italy’s Silvia Di Pietro (26.32), Egypt’s Farida Osman (26.33), France’s Melanie Henique (26.33), France’s Beryl Gastaldello (26.46), Canada’s Noemie Thomas (26.46) and Brazil’s Daynara DePaula (26.49) complete the list of contender’s in semi-finals.
