San Jose Swim Coach Andrew King Faces Sentencing for Molestation

SAN JOSE, California, January 16. ANDREW King, 61, is facing sentencing for his no contest plea of molestation of a 14-year-old female swimmer he coached at San Jose Aquatics from 2008-09, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Additionally, King pled no contest to abusing two other women when he coached them in East Bay in the 80s and 90s.

Other evidence reported in the article has King's trail of pedophilia dating back to 1978, including impregnating one girl. King faces up to a maximum sentence of 42 years in jail.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for yesterday, with victims and their families flown in from across the country – filling three rows of the courtroom. However, the final hearing has been delayed as the "defense's psychiatric expert was not yet ready."

Judge David A. Cena decided to delay the proceedings to make sure that any sentence handed down is not overturned in the appeals process.
