Sacred Heart vs. Central Connecticut State

NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut, November 13. THE Central Connecticut Swimming and diving team defeated Sacred Heart at home on Saturday afternoon, the Blue Devils improve to 5-2 in dual meets this season. The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Taylor Friedmann who captured a pair of individual victories at the meet.

The Blue Devils started strong with the team of Alex Czaplicki, Kristina Gulia, Katie Lang and Lauren Shortell winning the 800 medley relay in 8:52.97. Christine Smith than hopped in the water for the Blue Devils and came out victorious in the 1650 free, her time was 18:02.38. it was the first time this season that the Blue Devils had that event in a meet. The next event was the 200 free which Friedmann took in 1:55.98, she later captured the 400 free in 4:02.57.

Lauren O'Kelly won the 800 IM in 9:44.45, while Helene Neuhaus captured the 100 free in 54.10. Czaplicki captured the 400 backstroke in 4:33.50 to finish of the individual Blue Devil Victories.

Sacred Heart did not compete in the diving events, but Madison Vestergaard posted a 195.90 in the one-meter board to lead the Blue Devil divers.

The Blue Devils took the team victory by a final score of 115-83.
