Ryan Lochte Picked to Recreate Nirvana Album Cover for ESPN The Magazine

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, February 5. WHILE he's in Colorado Springs putting in some serious training time at altitude, Ryan Lochte took some time out from working out at the Olympic Training Center to help ESPN The Magazine recreate one of the most famous album covers in history.

Lochte and a team of photographers took over a pool at a Gold's Gym in Colorado Springs to get Lochte as close as possible to the original cover of Nirvana's 1991 album Nevermind. The album features a naked baby swimming toward a dollar bill attached to a fishing hook. The album went on to be regarded as the pioneer for alternative rock music and featured the iconic “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

We're sorry to report that while Lochte appears to get the pose right, based on the video below from ESPN, he does not elect to pose in the buff.

Lochte has been busy lately with sponsorship obligations while he continues to train for this summer's world championships. Last week, he hopped on a plane to Tennessee to film a commercial for carmaker Nissan.

The music issue of ESPN The Magazine is set to hit newsstands on or before February 18.
