Rutgers Coach Chuck Warner Talks About Revival of Swimming Carnival

PHOENIX, Arizona, February 4. CHUCK Warner, head swimming coach at Rutgers University, talks to Brent Rutemiller in this Swimming World Radio interview about January's Swimming World Magazine College Conference Carnival. The meet drew inspiration from a similar concept designed by famed coach, and Swimming World Magazine founder, Bob Kiphuth at Yale University. The interview appears on page 28 of the digital February issue of Swimming World Magazine available to premium members via a click.

Warner talks about his memories swimming in Kiphuth's event as a 9-year-old in the 1960s, and how the crowd "put a charge in all of us to how exciting swimming and diving and everything surrounding aquatics can be."

Warner said his vision for his event at Rutgers includes expanding the visibility of swimming and diving as fun and exciting sports, and give New Jersey an annual high-quality event that will showcase some of the top schools from each conference in the NCAA.

With the event streamed live, Warner said every team participating in the event gets exposure throughout the world and also to swimmers in the northeast United States.
