LAUSANNE, Switzerland – Russian swimmers Vladimir Pyshnenko, Natalia Mesheryakova and Olga Kochetkova, who claimed they had been tricked into eating a sabotaged cake, had their appeals thrown out.

Pyshnenko, Mesheryakova and Kochetkova were banned for two years by FINA in December 1997 after testing positive for metandieone.
