Robert Strand Lowers Own FINA Masters World Record

WOODLAND HILLS, California, November 23. OVER the weekend, Robert Strand, 63, lowered his own FINA Masters world record in the men's 60-64 100 breaststroke.

At the SPMA Turkey Shoot, a short course meter meet held at the Steven Schofield Aquatic Center, Strand clocked a time of 1:12.97 in the event. He beat his previous record of 1:13.33 set last year.

Strand has owned the event in this age group since first breaking Peter Andersen's record in 2006. Here is the recent progression of the world record courtesy of FINA:
