Rigamonti Takes 800 Free at Italian Nationals

CAMOGLI, Italy, December 19. SWISS Olympian and former NCAA champion at SMU, Flavia Rigamonti, made her presence known in Italian swimming last night as she won her first Italian title, reports insweep.com.

Rigamonti, who joined the Canottieri Napoli swim club in Naples a month ago, took the women's 800 meter freestyle on the first day of competition at the Italian Short Course Championships in Camogli in 8:27.69. The Swiss star led all the way, but was never able to shake Italian Simona Ricciardi, who finished three strokes behind in a PR 8:29.93.
