Results: FINA Men’s Water Polo World League 2013

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, November 6. THE FINA Men's Water Polo World League 2013 held its first two rounds of matches on October 31 and November 3, 2012 with the home and away games of the three European groups.

Montenegro, Serbia and Hungary currently top their respective group with two victories each. In Group A, Montenegro defeated Olympic champion and 2012 World League winner Croatia 13-10 in Zagreb; The Montenegrin squad was also too good for Greece, winning 11-9 in Budva.

In Group B, Olympic bronze medallist Serbia beat Germany in Hamburg 12-10 and Spain, silver medallist of the 2012 World League, in Belgrade 10-8.

In Group C, nine-time Olympic champion Hungary edged Romania in Oradea, 12-9 before winning by just one goal (6-5) over world number one Italy at home, in Szekesfehervar.

The four other rounds for these groups are scheduled for January 30, February 2 and March 27 and 30, 2013.

The composition of the European Groups of the 2013 Men's World League is as follows:

GROUP A — Croatia, Greece, Turkey, Montenegro
GROUP B — Spain, Germany, Serbia
GROUP C — Romania, Italy, Russia, Hungary

Moreover, preliminary rounds will be organised from March to May 2013 in the Americas between the teams of Brazil, Canada and USA (location to be confirmed) and Asia/Oceania between Australia, China, Japan and New Zealand in Auckland (NLZ). The Super Final of the competition is scheduled for June 11-16, 2013 (city to be confirmed).
