Relive March 3 LIVE Edition of The Morning Swim Show: Rocket Science Sports and TYR Discuss New Suits and Impending Legislation; Phil Whitten on Swimsuit Availability for College Teams

PHOENIX, Arizona, March 3. TODAY'S live edition of The Morning Swim Show featured an interview with two swimsuit manufacturers and the executive director of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

In case you missed our live show (airing each weekday at 10:30 a.m. MST), you can watch the video below and see host Peter Busch's interview with Marcin Sochacki, the founder of swimsuit manufacturer Rocket Science Sports. Sochacki talks about his company's new suit, which has fabric extending past the shoulders and could be deemed illegal at this summer's world championships if FINA approves a proposed amendment. Matt Zimmer, TYR's director of promotions, talks about the new TYR Tracer Titan, which was approved just last week, in time for the Big 12 championships. Zimmer talks about the risk TYR made in getting the suit ready, hoping it would be approved by the NCAA in time to market it for the NCAA championships. He also talks about the proposed regulations with FINA and whether the Titan fits the legislation that could be voted. (Watch only Matt Zimmer's interview here.)

Phil Whitten, executive director of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America, spoke on the memo released by the NCAA saying all suits approved by FINA would be allowed at the championships. Whitten said he has a problem with the availability of the suits to all college programs, though he has commended some companies for stepping in and providing competition suits to teams that were told their first choice was unavailable.
