Randy Reese Announces Decision to Leave Longhorn Aquatics for Post at Clearwater Aquatics

AUSTIN, Texas, July 29. SWIMMING World Magazine obtained a copy of a letter sent to the parents and swimmers of Longhorn Aquatics in which the team announced the resignation of Randy Reese.

Reese has long been rumored to be on the way to Clearwater Aquatics in Florida, but official confirmation of the rumor came with the following letter:

Dear Longhorn Aquatics Parents and Swimmers:

Coach Randy Reese has tendered his resignation to Longhorn Aquatics and has accepted an offer from a team from Clearwater, Florida. The move puts Randy and his wife closer to their children and grandchildren.

Longhorn Aquatics has been fortunate to have Randy as our head coach for the past five years. As a Swimming Hall of Fame coach, many teams have sought his expertise. Longhorn Aquatics would like to wish Randy the best of luck in Florida. We thank him for his leadership and for making Longhorn Aquatics one of the top teams in the country. Attached is a message from Randy.

"Dear Longhorn Aquatics Parents and Swimmers:

My plans to assume a position in Clearwater, Florida are in the process of being finalized. I am leaving Longhorn Aquatics with many fine memories of outstanding swimmers, parents, and colleagues. I want to extend my thanks to everyone for their hard work and involvement that made TXLA the outstanding team that it is. It is my hope that this organization will continue to be successful.

Sincerely,

Randy"

As a result of this decision, Longhorn Aquatics has begun a search for a new head coach. Be assured we will get a high caliber coach and have already begun making inquiries nationally to that end. In the meantime, Dave Kalange, with the help of Tom Andrew, will take over a combined Senior I & Senior 2 group. Senior 3, Longhorn and Junior Longhorn will remain unchanged. Please provide your full support to these coaches as they work extra hard to make this a smooth transition for the swimmers.
