CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, May 17. SWIMMAC’s Micah Lawrence turned in a sizzling time in the women’s 200-meter breaststroke en route to a win at the Arena Grand Prix in Charlotte.

Lawrence chased down a time of 2:24.68 in the finale, moving to 11th in the SwimVortex world rankings in the process. Lawrence went out strong, leading the field by more than a second at the 100 with a 1:10.32, before coming home with a 36.7 and 37.6.

Melanie Margalis took second overall in 2:28.39, while Emily McClellan snared third in 2:29.12. Molly Hannis picked up fourth in 2:29.30 with NBAC’s Annie Zhu finishing fifth in 2:31.30.

Lilly King (2:33.83), Katie Meili (2:34.57) and Gretchen Jaques (2:35.39) also put up championship finishes.

NCAC’s Abigail Fisher closed out NBAC’s Lauren James, 2:34.91 to 2:35.02, in an exciting B final. Raminta Dvariskyte took third in 2:35.44 with SwimMAC’s Maija Roses finishing fourth in 2:35.50.

Annie Lazor (2:36.29), Miranda Tucker (2:36.30), Madisyn Cox (2:36.45) and Amanda Lawson (2:37.82) touched fifth through eighth.
