Race Footage: Watch Ally Howe Smash 100 Back Independent High School Record

SANTA CLARA, California, May 23. LAST Saturday, Ally Howe set the national independent high school record in the 100-yard backstroke at the Central Coast section championships with a 51.54.

Howe, representing Sacred Heart Prep, dominates the field in this race video, employing stellar underwater dolphin kicks off each wall. She came close to breaking Olivia Smoliga’s overall national record of 51.43 in her finals race, but lowered the independent record of 51.84 from prelims the day before.
