Psych Sheet: Speedo Junior National Championships

It’s shaping up to be another stellar meet, as the top 18-and-under swimmers from around the country gather in Irvine next week. A couple of swimmers will be looking for individual titles with the top seed in multiple events. Tualatin Hills’ Michelle Cefal enters the meet as the top seed in the women’s 100 fly (59.13) and 200 fly (2:11.13), while Amy Bilquist of Carmel Swim Club will look for a trio of titles in the 50 free (25.32), 100 free (55.59) and 100 back (1:01.44).

Corey Okubo of Aquazot Swim Club is seeded second in four events: the 200 fly (1:58.28), 200 back (2:01.47), 200 IM (2:03.56) and 400 IM (4:18.90). He’ll have his hands full with Curtis Ogren in a couple of those events. Jacob Molacek and Michael Andrew will also vie for titles in several events, as well as sprint sensation Caeleb Dressel, who will just contest the 50 free.
