PSYCH SHEET: Federica Pellegrini Headlines Strong Field At Sette Colli Trophy

ROME, Italy, June 10. FEDERICA Pellegrini, Katinka Hosszu, Cameron van der Burgh and Laszlo Cseh are only a few of the top swimmers expected to compete this Friday through Sunday at the 51st Sette Colli Trophy in Rome, Italy.

Some of Europe’s best will headline the meet, which will take place at Rome’s outdoor, 50-meter Olympic pool. Hosszu, who just competed at the Monaco stop of the Mare Nostrum tour last weekend, will race in at least half a dozen events as usual, and will be joined by fellow Hungarian standouts Daniel Gyurta, Cseh and Gergo Kis, among others.

Besides Pellegrini, the Italians boast several other strong competitors, including Filippo Magnini, Ilaria Bianchi, Fabio Scozzoli and Marco Orsi. The Netherlands will also bring a few of their stars, including Inge Dekker, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Femke Heemskerk and Sebastiaan Verschuren.

It’s shaping up to be a quick meet, one that could preview the European Championships later this summer.
