Now for this week’s poll question… This championship season has produced some awesome swimming. We have been blessed to see multiple world record swims in a non-Olympic and even a non-world championship year. This week, we want to know which female world record swim you are the most impressed by. The options are between 2 ladies, United States Queen of Free Katie Ledecky and Katinka Hosszu the Hungarian Iron Lady. First up, is Ledecky in the 1500 at the Pan pacs swimming a time of 15:28.36 to defeat her previous mark by 6 seconds. Ledecky in the 400 freestyle at Pan Pacs lowering her mark again to a 3:58.37. She first broke this record at Nationals clearing Federica Pelligrini’s name off the record board. Number 3 is Katinka Hosszu in the 200 IM at a world cup stop posting a 2:02.6. She also previously held that world record and lowered her time by a half second. And lastly, the most recent world record Hosszu in the 400 IM with a time of 4:20.83. This record was previously held by China’s Ye Shiwen from the 2012 London Olympics. If you remember, this was the swim that shocked the world when Shiwen closed her 400IM in faster speed than Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte. Well the Iron Lady swam even faster and has claimed both IM records. Yes, we are aware there is one more world record – Katie Ledecky’s 800 freestyle. But please vote for our top 4 picks.
