Polish Championships: Third Day Complete

OSTROWIEC, Poland, April 5. A few national records withstood some scares at the Polish Championships held in Ostrowiec.

Xenia Madziarska took a run at the women's 50 back record of 29.71 held by both Aleksandra Miciul and Hanna Kubas when she clocked a winning effort of 29.95.

Meanwhile, Konrad Czerniak hit the wall in 53.18 in the men's 100 fly, just off Pawel Korzeniowski's national standard of 52.99. Also, Marcin Unold won the men's 50 back in 25.71 to give Bartosz Kizierowski's 25.52 a run.

In other swims, national record holder Katarzyna Baranowska nagged an Olympic A cut in the women's 200 IM with a time of 2:15.18.

In other men's events, national record holder Slawomir Kuczko won the 200 breast in 2:14.51, while fellow national record holder Przemyslaw Stanczyk claimed the 400 free in 3:50.13. Also, Jakub Jasinski took the 200 IM title in 2:03.76.

For the women, Paulina Barzycka touched out Joanna Budzis in the 400 free, 4:18.01 to 4:18.27, while Margozata Gembicka (100 fly – 1:02.03) and Iwona Predecka (200 breast – 2:29.87) each picked up wins.
