Phelps, Coughlin Nominated for Teen Choice Awards

PHOENIX, Ariz., USA, July 11. THE two biggest names in American swimming, Michael Phelps and Natalie Coughlin, have been nominated for Teen Choice Awards. Phelps and Coughlin are vying for top honors in the Sports – Choice Athlete category. The winners of the Teen Choice Awards will be revealed on Aug. 16 during a FOX television broadcast. Last year, Phelps and Coughlin dazzled at the Olympic Games in Athens, as the pair combined for 13 medals. Phelps won five individual medals and was a member of three medal-winning relays. Aside from claiming gold in the 200 and 400 individual medley events, Phelps won the 100 and 200 butterfly races. He also secured bronze in the 200 freestyle. As for Coughlin, she won gold in the 100 backstroke, bronze in the 100 freestyle and supported three medal-winning relays.
