People Magazine Reports Pregnancy, Marriage for Olympic Champion Amanda Beard

PHOENIX, Arizona, May 12. AN article appearing today on the website for People magazine reports that Olympic champion Amanda Beard is more than five months pregnant and was recently married to boyfriend Sacha Brown.

"I'm starting to look pregnant," Beard said in the article. Beard and Brown were married May 1 on a beach in Indonesia. Swimming World Magazine has also learned that the couple will participate in another ceremony soon for friends and family in Tucson, Ariz.

The People article also suggests that Beard will return to training after giving birth sometime in September in a bid to qualify for a fifth Olympic Games.

Beard won seven Olympic medals in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. Her sole individual gold came in 2004 in the 200-meter breaststroke.
