Penny Palfrey Returns To The Cayman Islands

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands. March 15. PENNY Palfrey will return to the site of one of her greatest adventures – the Cayman Islands – this June. She will participate in one of the world's greatest open water swimming events, the Flowers Sea Swim.

The last time Penny Palfrey was in the Cayman Islands, she swam 68 miles between Little Cayman Island and Grand Cayman Island, a breathtaking experience that has prepared her well to take upon her next Caribbean Sea swim between Cuba and Florida.

Nestled in the calm, turquoise waters of the western Caribbean, Penny was supported in the Caribbean paradise by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and the Flowers Group, race organizers of the annual Flowers Sea Swim.

From her base of Townsville in Queensland, Australia, Penny feels right at home in the turquoise blue waters of the Cayman Islands. Penny and 800 other swimmers ages 8-80 will take part in the 20th anniversary of the year of the Flowers Sea Swim. Many enter to simply participate; some strive to win the US$25,000 prize to break the world's open water swimming mile record or the US$5,000 prize to break the course records including Codie Grimsey.

While Codie is making a name for himself, Penny continues to do so:
