Peddie School Announces Student Signings

HIGHTSTOWN, New Jersey, November 19. PEDDIE duo sign national letters of intent Swimming World Magazine five-star recruits Nimrod Hayet and Connor Signorin signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

Hayet signed to continue his education at Auburn University, while Signorin inked his scholarship from the University of Florida.

"I just felt at home there, and they are NCAA swimming champions," said Hayet. "The team is a perfect fit for me."

A member of the Israeli National Team, Hayet's swimming prowess has garnered him international recognition. At European Junior Championships, Hayet set the Israeli national record in the 200-meter butterfly (later broken) to earn the silver and placed fourth in the 100 butterfly. At the Maccabiah Games, he captured gold in the 200 individual medley and finished second in the 400 IM.

Under the tutelage of head coach Greg Wriede '95, Hayet holds several school records including the 100 -and 200 butterfly in yards and meters and the 200-and 400 IM in yards and meters, respectively. In addition, Hayet owns New Jersey state records in four individual and three relay events.

"Nimrod will be a great addition to the Auburn squad," said Wriede. "His versatility makes him a threat in any event. His competitiveness and desire to be at the highest levels of the sport show that he will fit right in with the Auburn family."

A member of the U.S. Youth World Cup Team, Signorin recently returned from the FINA short course World Cup events in Stockholm and Berlin. He placed eighth in the 400 IM finals at Berlin.

"It was a very tough decision to go to Florida, but I am confident that it is the best swim program and school for me," said Signorin. "I am confident in coach Greg Troy's ability to develop swimmers and send a strong team to NCAA championships."

Signorin owns several long course senior national cuts in the 200-meter free (1:50.28), 400 free (3:56.60), 1500 free (15:30.85), 200 IM (2:04.78) and 400 IM (4:23.66). He also holds NCAA Division I B cuts in the 200-yard free (1:36.87), 500 free (4:23.97), 1650 free (15:14.48) and 400 IM (3:52.14).

"Connor's work ethic fits in very well with the Florida program and his overall ability across all events can be developed at a place like Florida which has demonstrated it can handle multiple event athletes and teach them to excel at the highest levels of the sport," said Wriede. "Additionally, he will be part of a team where he can learn from some of the best athletes in the sport."
